The U Visa is an immigration protection available to victims of certain serious crimes who have suffered physical or mental abuse and who have cooperated with law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the crime. This visa offers temporary legal status, work authorization, and the possibility of applying for permanent residence after three years.
